"REFERENCES TO SALAVADOR DALI MAKE ME HOT"
OPENS AT BAILIWICK OPENS MARCH 7 AT BAILIWICK

to April 10

Chicago--Perhaps no pair in Chicago is as hot as José Rivera and Sean Graney, and Bailiwick is thrilled to introduce Chicago audiences to Rivera’s fantasy REFERENCES TO SALVADOR DALI MAKE ME HOT, directed by Sean Graney, artistic director of The Hypocrites. REFERENCES TO SALVADOR DALI
MAKE ME HOT has $20 previews at 7:30 on Friday March 4
and Saturday March 5, and 3:30 on Sunday March 6. Opening
is Monday, March 7 at 7:30 ($30 includes reception).

On a hot night in a California desert, Gabriela dreams that the
moon plays the violin while a talking cat and coyote dance a dangerous tango.  Gabriela fends off the advances of a young
boy who wants to grow up too fast and learn the ways of women from his lusty neighbor, but Gabriela yearns for her husband,
Benito – returning later that night from the war in Iraq.  Once he’
s home, the couple find they have little in common anymore.

Is love enough to keep them together?  This magical comedy/
drama is a dark and sexy fantasia about the chemistry between
men and women and the ways that war changes everyone.

José Rivera is one of the most distinct dramatic voices in theatre
and film today.  He wrote the screenplay for the recent hit film
THE MOTORCYLCE DIARIES and his plays include THE HOUSE OF RAMON IGLESIA, THE PROMISE EACH
DAY DIES WITH SLEEP, MARISOL, CLOUD TECTONICS, MARICELA DE LA LUZ LIGHTS THE WORLD, GODSTUFF, THE STREET OF THE SUN, GIANTS HAVE US IN THEIR BOOKS and his adaptation of Calderon's classic from the
Spanish Golden Age, LIFE IS A DREAM - SUENO.

JUST WANDERER MAKES ITS WORLD PREMIERE
AT BAILIWICK REPERTORY THEATRE MARCH 1
to April 10

Chicago – Two troubled drifters meet up on a stormy and magical night in the
world premiere of Just Wanderer, a fast-paced play about human connection,
mystery and love. Bailiwick Repertory Artistic Director David Zak directs
Just Wanderer, by Chicago playwright Stephen Cone, previewing February 26
and 27, opening March 1 and closing April 10 at Bailiwick Repertory Theatre,
1229 West Belmont, Chicago.

In Just Wanderer by Chicago playwright Stephen Cone, a police office named
Anthony (Mark Steel) retreats to a secluded cabin in hopes of reflecting on
his life that is slipping away from him.  Have the dark and heartbreaking
things he has seen in his line of work played a role in his unhappiness?
Anthony hopes that by writing down his thoughts he’ll be able to answer the
questions that haunt him.  But he is soon interrupted by a mysterious young
man named Max (Tyler Moore) who barges into the cabin and refuses to leave.
Max is full of life, yet also deeply pained.  As Max shares pieces of his
intriguing life with Anthony, we learn that he may not have stumbled upon
Anthony’s hideaway accidentally.

In this edgy new drama, these two troubled drifters are forced to figure out
what frightening and important connection they share with each other. Just
Wanderer is a compelling evening of theater that is not to be missed.
