The 18th annual Garden Walk with the Oak Park Conservatory
  This year’s theme is “Hidden Treasurers.”
These have always been great events with wonderful yards and gardens chosen.  We suggest a good walk and take notes......




This event is sponsored by: Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest, and Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory. Event starts at the Conservatory.

Nine gorgeous gardens in Oak Park and River Forest will be open for viewing. Garden guides must be picked up at the Oak Park Conservatory at 615 Garfield Street on the day of the walk. Tickets are available in advance for $15 or $18 on the day of the walk. Purchase tickets at the Oak Park Conservatory, where the walk begins. The Garden Walk will be held rain or shine and no ticket refunds are given.

To begin the tour, pick up the Garden Guide at the Oak Park Conservatory. The self-guided tour begins at the Oak Park Conservatory. Tickets holders can pick up the guide at curbside starting at 9am.

Eight gardens located in both Oak Park and River Forest are open.  In addition this year offers a special exhibit of iron garden sculptures created by artist Brett Williams.

Make the Garden Walk eco-friendly and travel to the various gardens by bicycle.  In co-operation with Greenline Wheels, 105 South Marion St., Oak Park, Garden Walk ticket holders can rent a bike for $10 for a whole day of cycling.

The Exploration Station is closed for the summer.  Join us to learn more about “Garden Insects,” Butterflies, crickets, ladybugs, grasshoppers and more when the Exploration Station returns on Saturday, September 3, 2011.  Every Saturday morning plus school holidays from 10:00 – noon, September – May. Docents help children and others learn through interactive displays and games in the showrooms. New topic every month. Drop in anytime. It’s FREE!
